- Protect your personal information - Don't share your home address, workplace, social security number, or financial details
- Keep conversations on Veronata until you're comfortable. Our moderation team can only help with conversations that happen on our platform

- Verify their voice - If someone refuses voice calls or their voice seems different each time, be cautious

- Video call first - Before meeting in person, have a video call to verify they match their profile
Red Flags to Watch For
- Asks for money, gifts, or financial assistance
- Requests intimate photos or recordings
- Gets angry when you say no to requests
- Attempts to move conversation off platform immediately
- Stories don't add up or change frequently
- Refuses to voice/video call

Meeting In Person
Before You Go
- Tell a trusted friend your plans - who you're meeting, where, and when
- Meet in public - Choose a populated, public location for first meetings
- Share your location with a trusted friend using your phone's location sharing
- Arrange your own transportation - Don't depend on your date for a ride
- Stay sober - Limit alcohol consumption and never leave drinks unattended
- Charge your phone and have emergency contacts ready
- Set up a check-in - Have a friend call/text at a specific time
During the Date
- Meet at the location - Don't get picked up at home or work
- Stay in public areas until you know someone well
- Don't leave with someone you just met to go to a private location
- Trust your gut - Leave immediately if you feel uncomfortable
- Don't share accommodations on trips until you know someone well
Voice and Video Call Safety
Protecting Your Privacy on Calls
- Use Veronata's voice features rather than sharing your phone number initially
- Be aware of your background in video calls - it can reveal your location
- Don't share screens unless you've reviewed what's visible
- Record concerns - If someone makes you uncomfortable on a call, end it and report them
Sexual Health and Consent
- Consent is mandatory - Both parties must agree to any sexual activity
- Consent can be withdrawn at any time
- Protect your sexual health - Use protection and discuss STI testing
- You have the right to say no to anything that makes you uncomfortable
Financial Safety
Never Send Money For:
- Travel expenses to meet you
- Medical emergencies
- Visa or travel documents
- Investment opportunities
- Bill payments or rent
- Family emergencies
Remember: People who ask for money online are likely scammers, regardless of how long you've been talking.
